How does it work?
Smart-e products work by mixing up to 11 different signals and injecting them onto the 4 pairs of wires available in CAT* type cabling. Using a receiver to decode the signals into industry standard video, analogue audio, digital audio, Infa-Red, bidirectional RS232 and remote power, the output can be fed into commercial or domestic type A/V equipment. Smart-e matrices also provide full non blocking routing from up to 128 sources to 128 destinations. Matrices can be fully controlled by our own IP control unit, Smart-e application software, Infa-Red handset control or one of many available control systems.
Smart-e team have the ability required to manage every stage of a product’s development from its initial conception through to large quantity manufacturing. Smart-e have dedicated in house personnel to cover schematic design, pcb layout, mechanical design, system firmware, system software, cabling and power, test and assembly procedure and quality inspection. The bulk of the products are assembled and tested by closely vetted contract electronic manufacturers, under strict procedures, whilst custom built products are assembled and tested by Smart-e trained technicians. Smart-e has also invested heavily in video and audio test equipment to ensure the highest quality in all its products.
Smart-e equipment is able to transmit all types of analogue video along with stereo audio, digital audio, full duplex RS232, modulated & un-modulated Infa-Red and remote power over a single CAT* type cable. Most other equipment of this type can only transmit a limited number of signals or require more than 1 CAT* type cable.CAT* refers to CAT 5, 5e, 6, 7 and 8 structured cabling.
