Digital extender for touch screens from Smart-e A device designed specifically to extend digital AV signals for touch screen systems has been launched by Smart-e Limited. Known for their leading edge AV technologies, the UK company has come up with a solution to extend digital signals when the source is located up to 100 metres away from the display.
The new range of digital extenders known as the SDS-902 are HDbaseT and inlude IR, RS232 and USB over a single CAT5e-8 cable.
As Jon Lane, Smart-e’s managing director says “When designing this new point-to-point extender we had the digital signage sector in mind, however it can be used in conjunction with a number of devices, from video conferencing to PCs and therefore has wide appeal”.
The SDS-902 supports HDMI v1.4 features, DVI and Display Port Multimode signals. Transparent DDC connectivity provides HDCP compliance and it features Deep Colour, 3D, 4k and 2k resolutions, and full 1080p. In-line power is standard allowing the transmitter or receiver unit to be powered through the cable, whilst a secure DC connection prevents accidental removal of the power supply.
The SDS-902 is available direct from Smart-e .To assist with the installation process Smart-e is also providing dedicated SDS product training sessions for installers.
