New HDMI switching & distribution solution from Smart-e Smartmix is a high performance home entertainment solution that overcomes the technical challenges of HDMI. The multi-format solution receives and transmits a mix of analogue and digital signals via a single CAT 5* cable within one unit. 
Mixed analogue video formats together with HDMI signals can be switched and distributed to multiple displays up to 200m away. Local and remote AV sources can be accommodated in the same unit, allowing a Blu Ray DVD player, located remotely from the matrix, to connect directly to the system (using a suitable transmitter such as Smart-e’s SLX-TX800) via a single CAT 5* cable. Analogue signals including RGBHV, Y/C and composite signals can also be connected via the Smart-e SLX-TX811 converter transmitter. Smartmix can handle up to 8 direct source device connections in 3 combinations of HDMI, YPrPb and CAT 5* inputs and transmit to up to 8 displays. Larger units are currently in development. The simplicity of the system means there is only a single HDMI cable connecting to the display from Smart-e’s CAT 5* receiver unit, the SLX-RX800. The solution transmits HD compatible signals (up to 1080p) digital S/P Dif audio, and features Auto Equalisation (EQ), IR and RS232 control passthrough.
